Red carpet events are all about the gowns, the accessories... and apparently , the blood. With pics of Kylie Jenner's Met Gala dress' bruises surfacing online, we take a look at the woes of other celebrities and the cost of getting ready for the red carpet.
JLO'S CHANGING ROOM BRUISES
While hosting the American Music Awards last December, Jennifer Lopez changed into 10 different outfits, including cutaway gowns and skin-tight catsuits.Unfortunately , the process took its toll on JLo, who later admitted, “I had scratches and bruises everywhere from trying on so much stuff.“
BEY'S KILLER HEELS
Beyonce's known for her amazing choreography-all of which she pulls off in stilettos. But just because she's Queen Bey, doesn't mean she escapes the pain that comes with it. “I practice my choreography in heels. In the end, I'll have blisters and my toes will have bruises.It's really hard sometimes,“ she said in an interview.
JENNIFER'S `RIB SPASM'
Bumping into her ex Ben Affleck might have been the least of Jennifer Garner's worries at this year's Oscars. Recalling the difficulty of wearing a metal corset under her dress, she said, “My ribs were compressed. There's metal inside (the dress) and these people move your ribs and pop you in.“
To make matters worse, she said that during the ceremony “suddenly , my ribs started spasming. I was having a muscle spasm. And I said, `I can't breathe. I'm going to have to stand up!' And my friend said, `If you stand up, they'll think you're Kanye West, they'll think you're protesting.' So I couldn't stand up. Fortunately , there was a commercial break.“
SOFIA VERGARA
The Modern Family actress, who turned heads this year's awards season, explained that her stunning outfits came at a price. “(My breasts are) a 32DDD and because they're real, they're everywhere.
So I need my dresses to have structure -an under armour. There is so much going on un der my dresses that I bleed at the end of award cere monies,“ the 43 year-old star lamented.
KYLIE'S MET GALA BRUISES
While Kylie Jenner's bejewelled silver gown at her Met Gala debut on Monday might have made her fans jealous, what's not enviable is the gown's after-effects.The 18-year-old shared a photo of the scratches on her shins and her swollen feet after the event, captioned, “When your dress made you bleed and your feet are purple.“ She, however, added in another pic, “It was worth it though.“
